Cambridge-based Wallwork Group (
www.wallworkht.co.uk) has invested £2.7 million in world-class vacuum brazing facilities over the last two years to meet growing demand, and it recently appointed Tim Merryweather as vacuum brazing technical sales engineer.
He said: “This is an exciting time to be joining the company, as it is experiencing significant orders from the aerospace sector — especially for critical hot engine parts like honeycombs, blades and vanes.
“I will be working with both UK and international clients — alongside manager Peter Cookson — to help meet the challenges ahead.”
Mr Merryweather previously worked for Radshape Sheet Metal, Knight Strip Metals and VBC Group.
His project involvement includes Rolls-Royce, Lockheed Martin, GE, Siemens and Reaction Engines.
He added: “Helping customers with R&D is a large part of our work in the vacuum brazing department.
“Fostering a close working relationship is essential for long-term aerospace programmes; Wallwork having AS9100, Nadcap and many prime approvals gives people confidence in our ability to meet their advanced technical needs.
Likewise, in motor-sport, we can bring top teams all the experience gained from aerospace to help them rapidly develop winning components.”
While mainly based at the company’s Cambridge site, Mr Merryweather will also operate from Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle.
