Centrica to sell CCGT power station

Centrica to sell CCGT power stationCentrica plc (www.centrica.com) has agreed to sell its 382MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station in King’s Lynn to RWE Generation for £105 million.

The deal should be completed in the first quarter of 2020; it forms part of Centrica’s non-core asset disposal programme (announced in February last year) and is consistent with its strategy to become a leading international provider of energy services and solutions.

The new King's Lynn CCGT was commissioned on 18 November 2019 after a major upgrade by Siemens, including the installation of a new gas turbine.

Designed for maximum efficiency and flexibility, it can produce enough power to meet the needs of 400,000 households (almost all the homes in Norfolk).
