Training facility installs TIG welding units

Training facility installs TIG welding unitsLeicester-based Westermans International Ltd, which sources, refurbishes and supplies welding and associated equipment to customers world-wide, has installed eight TIG welding units at the Redditch training facility of Midlands Group Training Services (MGTS).

This follows the supply of seven similar units to the MGTS facility in Coventry.

Craig Westerman, sales and operational director, said: “MGTS provides an important engineering apprenticeship facility for both young people and adults alike.

"Our initial work with the organisation goes back 10 years, so we were delighted to be contacted again to fulfil equipment needs for both the Coventry and Redditch training centres.”

The latest order was centred on Fronius 3000 Magicwave AC/DC welding systems, which are known for their robust design and reliability; they were supplied complete with water cooling and a foot control.

Choosing Westermans (www.westermans.com) as its equipment supplier gave MGTS a significant cost advantage.

Because the company has active contacts world-wide for the procurement of used equipment, plus a comprehensive refurbishment and refitting service, it can supply reliable welding equipment at a fraction of the cost of new units.

At MGTS, this has resulted in an estimated saving of around 66%, while meeting all of its operational needs.

Coventry MGTS centre lead Neil Russell said: “The equipment provided by Westermans represents excellent value for money, particularly as we have been able to purchase top-specification welding units that are effectively as good as new.”
