Pemamek (
www.pemamek.com) — a global welding and production automation provider based in Loimaa, Finland — has delivered two PEMA production lines (for wind turbine foundation pin pile production) to CSBC Corp, Taiwan.
The investment is a part of CSBC’s business development initiative “to become an offshore wind energy turn-key provider” and expand its operations in the offshore wind energy market.
The modern production solutions will enable CSBC to not only significantly increase its competitiveness but also boost manufacturing capacity and end-product quality.
Leo Chen, CSBC vice-president, said: “We are glad to co-operate with an experienced production solution provider for the wind energy sector.
“This investment will reinforce CSBC’s position as the key player in the Taiwanese offshore wind energy markets and help the company to take a major leap towards future goals.”
The installations include two PEMA production lines that are designed to manufacture pin piles up to 90m long and weighing 350 tonnes.
Included are: three longitudinal-seam welding stations; two assembly stations capable of welding internal circular seams; two welding platforms that weld with two welding heads simultaneously; integrated heavy-duty roller beds; and PEMA WeldControl 500 control systems with laser-tracking and designed for multi-pass welding.
The ‘scope of supply’ also includ-ed training, production start-up support, a preventive maintenance package, and local service support from an authorised PEMA service partner.
Manufacturing on the PEMA production lines has already started. CSBC will be supplying a significant number of foundation pin piles for Ørsted’s 900MW Greater Changhua wind farm, scheduled for 2021.
