Abertillery-based Powerhose Technical, a manufacturer of industrial hoses, is planning to expand and to recruit five people over the next three years.
The company (
www.powerhosetechnical.co.uk) was set up by Dave Morgan last year, and he is now looking to move into larger premises to meet demand.
He plans to take on extra space, invest in more machinery and broaden the range of products that the firm can offer; he is also seeking ISO 9001 certification.
The business has been assisted by a £1,000 Kickstart grant, provided jointly by Tata Steel subsidiary UKSE and Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.
Mr Morgan said: “Our products have to meet demanding specifications, so we use only the highest-quality materials and methods of quality testing.
“The Kickstart grant was very helpful and I am grateful for the support we have received in getting the business up and running.”
Glyn Thomas, manager in Wales for UKSE, said: “We are delighted to support Powerhose Technical and pleased to see that they are working at a high level of technical expertise.
“As the business grows and takes on staff, it will add to the level of skills in the area.”
