Pryor to display laser marking technologies Sheffield-based Pryor Marking Technology Ltd, will showcase its identification technologies and traceability solutions at Southern Manufacturing 2020 (Stand D170) (www.pryormarking.com).

The company will have a range of laser marking solutions on display for visitors to determine the best one for their application and requirements.

Pryor will be demonstrating its ‘on-the-fly’ high-speed laser marking product, which can provide permanent laser marking of metal components on a high-speed conveyor in as little as 0.5sec.

Camera verification ensures that the laser mark meets industrial standards, and the quality is identical to a stationary mark, thanks to software that automatically adjusts the marking position.

Portability is a key factor for many businesses, particularly in the aerospace and automotive sector, as they often have large heavy items that require marking.

Pryor’s portable laser is highly mobile; it allows easy marking of large, immobile and heavy items and can mark onto a wide range of materials.

As the company’s fastest and most versatile marking system, the Bench Laser is suitable for high-volume and high-variety output. It is designed with the user in mind and has a pilot beam that enables the operator to see exactly where the machine is set to mark.

Also on display will be a range of portable and bench-top dot peen marking machines: the PortaDot P50-25; PortaDot P130-30 E; BenchDot EZA; and MarkMate. Last year saw the creation of a new Automation Division to capitalise on the opportunity presented by Pryor’s reputation as a leading supplier of integrated turn-key projects using robotics, vision systems and automation.

These have become core product offerings for the new division, serving an impressive range of well-known global brands.

Andy Hales, the Automation Division’s head of sales, said: “As the only company designing, manufacturing and installing this equipment in the UK, our team can provide expert advice on marking best practice.

“We are looking forward to showing our capability, with on-stand demonstrations of our key products for identification and traceability.”
