UK-made compact five-axis machining centre Yamazaki Mazak UK Ltd (www.mazakeu.co.uk) will be highlighting its new UK-made fully simultaneous five-axis machining centre at Southern Manufacturing 2020 (Stand J220).

The CV5-500, which has been entirely designed and built at Mazak’s European manufacturing plant in Worcester, has a
high-rigidity bridge construction with a fully supported trunnion table; this results in an accurate and compact machining solution that is being offered at a highly competitive price.

The machine is equipped with a versatile 12,000rev/min spindle, capable of a peak performance of 18.5kW and 119.4Nm, making it suitable for a wide range of materials and users.

The CV5-500 benefits from a compact footprint, can be easily automated via a side-loading door and a robot interface, and is equipped with SmoothX five-axis CNC.

Alan Mucklow, managing director of Yamazaki Mazak UK & Ireland’s sales division, said: “The CV5-500 is set to become one of the flagship machines produced at our manufacturing facility in Worcester.

"Customers were heavily involved in the R&D process to ensure that the end product is equipped to deliver stand-out performance across a range of vertical markets, including both the sub-contract and auto-sport sectors.

“The bridge construction promotes both high rigidity and high accuracy, while easy integration with ancillary automation equipment can be achieved.

"Ultimately, we feel this is the most compact fully simultaneous five-axis machining centre on the market, with a price point that offers a real opportunity for those with the ambition to move into more-complex machining processes.”
