Aero Precision, a US-based military-aviation after-market distributor, has acquired Kellstrom Defense, an aftermarket ‘sustainment solutions provider’ (also based in California).
Darryl Mayhorn, Aero Precision’s president and CEO (
www.aeroprecision.com), said: “This acquisition has created one of the largest privately owned military after-market distribution businesses in the industry — one that includes repair and overhaul, manufacturing, engineering services and logistics management.”
Chris Celtruda, Kellstrom’s CEO, said: “The combination of Aero Precision and Kellstrom Defense’s after-market solutions and expanded ‘global channel’ will ensure that our government and military-aviation customers world-wide receive improved mission-readiness through ample support capabilities.
“We look forward to a rapid integration of the business teams in the coming months.”
Aero Precision and Kellstrom Defense serve a broad portfolio of military-aircraft platforms, such as the C-130, UH-60, F-15, F-16 and F-18.
They say that this acquisition will provide added value for their customers and partners; it will also give Aero Precision access to more legacy aircraft such as the B707, F-5 and P-3, as well as additional OEM partnerships.
