METAV 2020 (
www.metav.com), a leading show for metal-working and manufacturing technologies — scheduled to take place from 10 to 13 March this year in Düsseldorf — has been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic and will now take place from 23 to 26 March 2021.
Wilfried Schäfer, executive director of the VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association), said: “We are delighted to have agreed a new date with our partner — Messe Düsseldorf — so quickly.
This was no easy matter, because the entire trade fair calendar has had to be rejigged due to the large number of exhibition cancellations and postponements.”
The engineering industry, as one of the key customers of the machine tool sector, is expecting demand to bounce back when the epidemic is over.
Dr Schäfer added: “All the contracts with the roughly 460 METAV exhibitors will remain valid for the new date.”
