EAV confirms technical partnership with Revonte

EAV confirms technical partnership with RevonteElectric Assisted Vehicles Ltd has signed an exclusive agreement with Revonte (www.revonte.com) — a hardware and software engineering company that was established in Finland in 2018 with a mission to take eBikes ‘to the next level by providing a best-in-class drive system’.

The company (www.eavcargo.com) is also focused on developing advanced software for its hardware drive systems; these include a fully integrated stepless transmission — the new Revonte ONE Drive.

Meanwhile, EAV describes its EAVcab as “one of the most advanced, robust, stable and efficient eCargo bikes available”.

The EAVcab was engineered down from a van (rather than up from a bicycle), and with the integrated Revonte ONE Drive system developed specifically for eCargo use, it could offer a package for Urban Lightweight Commercial Vehicles (ULCV).

EAV founder Adam Barmby said: “Technical development is at the forefront of our work at EAV.

“We know that we can use a bio-mechanical electric hybrid vehicle to replace most vans — and even cars — in urban environments without any loss of operational efficiency, but we need to see how far we can improve that offering and where those improvements need to be.

"We are already fully modular, with the EAVcab offering multiple models on the same chassis, and we are working on our own wheel, tyre and braking developments to ‘over-engineer’ safety into all EAV vehicles.

"The inclusion of the Revonte ONE Drive system and working with Revonte to package that with EAV vehicles will take our ULCVs well beyond the next level.”

Revonte will be working closely with EAV to customise the software to match the demands of a new line of cargo eBikes.

The ‘highly customisable’ nature has been a priority since the inception of the Revonte ONE Drive System to meet the varied and demanding needs of the ever-growing eBike market.
