Kansas-based Textron Aviation Inc (
www.txtav.com) recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the first Cessna Citation CJ4 business jet, which is used by customers around the world in a variety of ways, including as air ambulances, maritime patrols, search and rescue missions and aaerial surveys.
The single-pilot CJ4 is the largest of the Cessna light-jet family of aircraft, offering a combination of high-performance, low-operating costs and ‘class-leading’ cabin amenities.
It has an IFR (instrument flight rules) range of 1,926 nautical miles, a maximum cruising speed of 451 knots, seating for 10 passengers and a 1,040lb baggage capacity.
Cessna says that its Citations aircraft continue to lead the light-jet sector, with over 5,000 delivered throughout the world, while Textron Aviation’s Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker brands jointly account for more than half of the ‘general-aviation aircraft flying’ via four principal lines: business jets; turboprop aircraft; high-performance piston aircraft; and military-trainer and defence aircraft.
Textron Aviation also has a global customer service organisation; to date, the company has delivered more than 250,000 aircraft in over 170 countries.
