Plymouth-based Manuplas, a division of Advanced Insulation Systems Ltd (
www.advancedinsulation.com), has signed a two-year lease for additional storage space close to its production facility.
This expansion closely follows the appointment of Chris Napier as managing director in February and is the first significant change to be made since his appointment.
The new units will provide 5,340ft
2 of additional warehouse space, increasing overall factory space by 12.5%.
The additional facility will allow Manuplas to increase its storage and production capability enabling it to significantly increase the volume and range of products available for immediate delivery to customers. It will also enable the current storage area to return to its use as a car park.
The investment in the Plymouth site, coincides with the acquisition of a new factory in Gloucester that will focus on the production of subsea products, enabling the Plymouth team to focus on growing and expanding its marine capability.
Mr Napier said: “This is a hugely exciting time for our marine division, this expansion will enable us to develop our existing site and also focus on developing our range of products to meet the needs of our customers quickly and efficiently.”
