The
Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS), taking place 15-20 March 2021, is expected to feature around 7,000 exhibitors with the support of domestic and foreign machinery manufacturers — making it the major international event for the machinery industry next year.
In the run up to the show, the organisers, namely the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), are hosting a series of online events with different themes every month.
TIMTOS Glimpse and
TIMTOS Salon will be aired on a regular basis to assist machinery manufacturers to promote new models, grasp key global market trends, and seek out new global business opportunities.
The latest instalment of
TIMTOS Glimpse, released on 24 September, featured Buffalo Machinery Co, Ltd, a company that specialises in the development and manufacturing of high-end machine tools.
In the video, the company demonstrates its latest high-end, high-speed, Industry 4.0 ready AXILE machining centre along with other innovative technologies and show how it has responded to the post-Covid-19 era.
Meanwhile, the
TIMTOS Salon online events are focusing on inviting important machine tool association representatives from around the world to share first-hand their views on local market conditions.
After a successful launch discussing the current situation in the US and Turkish markets in August, the TIMTOS Salon continued its virtual trip around the world in September.
Released on 17 September, the third episode of
TIMTOS Salon featured an inteview with Mr Anbu, chairman of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) on market conditions and the impact the Covid-19 pandemic was having — India is the third largest export destination for Taiwan's machine tools.
Mr Anbu also addressed the opportunities and impacts that the Indian government will bring to the machine tool industry after the implementation of the emission standard Bharat Stage (BS) IV policy.
From October to November,
TIMTOS Salon and
TIMTOS Glimpse will continue to release new videos.
TIMTOS 2021 is striving to break through the restrictions posed by the pandemic and strengthen the integration of online and offline resources.
Aside from using the
TIMTOS Salon and
TIMTOS Glimpse series of videos as warm-up activities, TAITRA has been preparing for a
TIMTOS online exhibition to meet the needs of exhibitors and buyers. Expected to be launched soon, the online version of
TIMTOS will be run alongside the physical exhibition.
