During a business trip to Brazil, Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson said that Belfast is now “a global destination for commerce.” Mr Robinson was attending a meeting with the Brazilian Industrial Federation of São Paulo, which represents over 130 trade associations in the region.
He said: “Northern Ireland has much to offer investors. Our Executive has invested heavily in infrastructure — roads, rail, air and IT — and we are now supported by one of the most advanced broad-band networks in the UK. Belfast is now among the top global destinations for financial-services technology investments. For the last five years, we have been the second most successful region in the UK for inward investment, and Belfast is currently the most attractive city for foreign direct investment outside of London.”
