AE Aerospace, a leading manufacturer of precision machined components, has just landed a £3.6 million three-year deal with a major aerospace company in the Midlands, supplying complex parts for the A220 Airbus programme.
Obtaining an order of this scale, after 2020 saw civil aerospace manufacturing plummet, is seen as a huge vote of confidence for the company and the sector. This contract will see AE Aerospace returning to the sales levels last seen in 2019 and will ensure that it can secure employment for skilled staff, while providing additional supply chain work in the West Midlands.
The three-year deal reflects AE Aerospace’s continuous investment in their facilities, manufacturing technologies and their team. Ultimately, it is the investment in improved machining which resulted in a price reduction for the customer. In securing this agreement, AE Aerospace has demonstrated the ability to meet the competitive demands of cost, quality and performance expected.
Peter Bruch, AE Aerospace managing director, said: “With the well-documented reduction in civil aerospace work and employment in 2020 due to Covid-19, this new order is a welcome boost to the West Midlands and keeps work in the UK.”
AE Aerospace has consistently demonstrated its ability to meet the demands expected by customers and 2021 will see AE Aerospace’s order book continue to grow.
