Laser Trader focuses on keeping lasers runningThirsk-based Laser Trader Ltd, one of the largest independent suppliers of laser consumables, has been providing the UK and Ireland laser industry for over 20 years with impartial advice provided by its team of experienced engineers.

The company supports some of the largest manufacturer’s in the UK, with not only whole laser cutting systems, including optics and beam delivery systems, beam diagnostic systems, and also laser consumables — essential to keeping lasers running efficiently.

Laser Trader is also the exclusive UK partners for Precitec laser head systems, Primes Beam diagnostics devices and Tesla end stage values. Precitec are world leaders in the manufacturing industry, founded as a small engineering firm in 1971, the company now operates worldwide supplying laser technology and 3-D measurement equipment.

Precitec’s core business comprises of laser cutting heads with integrated height sensors, ranging from welding/cladding systems, 3-D metrology and laser cutting, which includes 2-D flat bed cutting, pipe cutting, robot cutting and micro machining.

Meanwhile, Primes is a market-leader in laser measurement, with almost 100 employees, a subsidiary in Japan and an international distribution network. In 1992, Reinhard Kramer and Joachim Franek founded the Primes company with the vision of developing measuring devices for laser analysis and launching them into the market.

Troubleshooting on laser beams that were not performing correctly provided the basis for the company’s subsequent success — devices for measuring beam power and intensity distribution for a wide variety of laser types and wavelengths were developed.

Company founder Kramer built an independent calibration laboratory, which today operates various beam sources for a 100% test and calibration of all measuring devices. At present a total of five lasers with more than 1kW power and seven lasers between 1W and 1kW are operational.

I recent years Laser Trader has gradually increased its consumables offering, covering all of the major laser manufacturers. Along with its exclusive suppliers, the company is also the distributor of Precitec consumables, II-VI optics, Hypertherm consumables and the Tesla End stage valves.

While there has been an influx of low-quality, cheap consumables into the UK market, which are untested and have no quality assurance, Laser Trader is committed to only offering fully tested, quality assured consumables. The company understands the importance of only using the highest quality materials in all the products it supplies and with the huge level of investment put into a laser system, the company will only supply standard parts with warranty. Furthermore, all of its products are quality tested to ensure they exceed the required UK standard.
