High Wycombe-based
www.hurco.com/gb Hurco Europe Ltd has announced that it will hold an Open House on 6 and 7 October, the same dates that the postponed
Southern Manufacturing Show was due to take place.
Hurco’s managing director David Waghorn said: “Our in-house event will take place at the same time as
EMO in Milan. Although it is now possible to travel to Italy, we doubt that many people from the UK and Ireland will visit this year. However, a quick trip to High Wycombe will give everyone an excellent perspective on the latest developments on offer from Hurco.
“Over the summer we have been really busy and have replaced all of the machines on demonstration with new models — in a few cases, we are showing machines for the first time ever in the UK.”
Taking centre stage is the BX60i vertical machining centre (VMC), designed for large X- and Y-axis travels while maintaining dynamic stability and accuracy. The portal machine is ideal for producing large mould tools or aerospace components. Making its UK debut will be the VM One, a super-compact, entry-level VMC, which — although small enough to fit through a 2m high doorway — has generous power and capacity.
Two of Hurco's most popular automation solutions will also be seen working live. A Hurco ProCobot Profeeder will be seen producing parts on a VM20i VMC and an Erowa Robot Compact 80 feeding the new VMX30UDi, a direct-drive, 15,000rev/min version of the popular VMX30Ui five-axis VMC with 200kg trunnion capacity. The solution is intended for automating small- to medium-batch runs or just one-offs.
Three Hurco turning centres will be available for demonstration including the TM8Mi driven tool lathe. Also highlighted will be the versatile VMX42SRTi five-axis VMC with direct drives on all axes including B and C, plus a further four models from the VMX and VM ranges. In total there will be 12 machines under power and cutting metal.
Mr Waghorn concluded: “Refreshments and lunch will be provided for all attendees. We hope that our Open House will be a welcome opportunity to come and discuss future plans or potential projects with our team of sales and applications engineers.
“We don’t believe that there will be any need for special Covid-19 precautions, but face masks and hand sanitisers will be provided for use as required.”
