Machining of challenging materials has now been simplified with the expansion of the Union Tool range of CZS cutting tools from Cheshire-based Rainford Precision Machines Ltd
The series of solid-carbide end mills from the Japanese cutting tool manufacturer has been extended with new diameters added to improve productivity, performance and the potential of this line when machining a wide variety of materials. To make it even more appealing, the range is currently available with a limited-time 50% discount.
The CZS end mills incorporate a geometry design that combines with a super micro-grain carbide substrate and an ultra-tough UT coating to provide manufacturers with industry-leading performance levels. They are suitable for machining everything from carbon, alloy and pre-hardened steels to 55HRc as well as cast iron, aluminium, titanium and heat resistant alloys and copper.
The end mills have a 40deg high-helix angle for unsurpassed swarf evacuation which combines with a variable pitch helix that reduces the harmonic effects and vibration when undertaking high-speed milling tasks.
With a flat land as part of the patented tip geometry, the CZS Series is suitable for drilling, milling, side milling, slotting, pocketing and trochoidal cutting operations, reducing the requirement for multiple cutting tools and excessive inventory. Unsurpassed resistance
Furthermore, the edge geometry and high-quality carbide grade make the CZS ideal for vertical milling with unsurpassed resistance to edge chipping while the low-friction coating enhances chip evacuation and improves wear resistance.
The impressive four-flute square end tools have been expanded with new diameter ranges that make the series available from 1-6mm diameter in 0.1mm increments and 6-12mm in 0.5mm increments with 13, 16 and 20mm diameter end mills also available.
The series is offered with a length of cut from 3 to 40mm depending upon the diameter selected and end mills above 6mm have a range of flute lengths available to maximise rigidity and performance when undertaking challenging machining tasks. This is complemented with an overall tool length from 50mm for the smallest end mills to 125mm for the 20mm diameter tools.
To further maximise rigidity and performance, the end mills from 1 to 6mm are supplied with a 4 or 6mm shank diameter that is necked with a 16deg angle for smaller tools whereas tools from 6.5 to 20mm are provided with shank diameters of 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20mm – all incorporated into the expanded range.
