Wanner International’s new ‘Technical Centre of Excellence’ in industrial pump development formally opened earlier this month.
The purpose-built facility enables the company’s UK-based operation in Fleet, to deliver enhanced service capabilities. These include: system design and custom pump builds; performance testing; on-line and on-site ‘witness testing’; service and maintenance training; and technology demonstrations.
The company says it has invested in this 5,000ft
2 facility to increase capacity to meet the growing global demand for its services, and to take its Hydra-Cell pump on to “the next level of technical innovation. This innovation is a must-have, not a luxury, as the current environment is changing rapidly, with new regulations on sustainability, customers demanding ever greater levels of effectiveness and more chemically challenging liquids to be moved efficiently”.
While Wanner’s main high-volume manufacturing plant in the USA, this new purpose-built UK facility enables the company to: build low-volume customised pumps; build pump skids (a set including a driver such as an electric motor or diesel engine mounted on a common steel base); undertake testing to meet customer specifications; and host training workshops — either on-site or via on-line video.
Paul Davis, Wanner International’s managing director, said: “We are very pleased to have seen growth in sales, considering the tough 18 months we have all experienced. It is great to know that the additional advantages of our Hydra-Cell seal-less pumps over many other pump technologies have made a real difference in improving the processes of our customers in oil and gas — as well as other industries.
“We are very proud of our pump technology and our people, so in opening our new centre of excellence we hope to be able to further enhance both the technology and service capabilities we have to offer.”
He concluded: “Continuing to invest strongly in R&D is how we have been able to expand across the globe and attract our specialist technical and sales partners who assist our clients in over 70 countries. We look forward to the continued upward trend in growth and the continued expansion of the Hydra-Cell pump family.”
