The company specialises in electro-discharge machining (EDM), five-axis milling and complex mill-turning for the manufacture of high-precision complex parts for the aerospace, satellite, oil and gas, medical and motor-sport industries.

However, interest in Di-Spark not only comes from its customers but also further afield, as managing director David Light highlights: “We were approached a couple of months ago by Executive Television/Collaborative Media to become involved in, and be a main contributor to, a TV Programme on ‘Advanced Manufacturing’ that is due to be broadcast in May and June on Sky 212 and Freesat 401. The Programme looks at four UK manufacturing companies and focuses on innovation and best-practice — and how companies can improve their competitiveness by investing in the latest and most advanced manufacturing technologies.

“Di-Spark’s strengths and track record in all of these areas and our belief that ‘if you are not moving forwards, you are moving backwards’ made us an ideal choice for the programme and we were more than happy to get involved.”

The broadcast dates are: Sunday 19 May at 11:30 on SKY digital channel 212 and Freesat channel 401. Also, Tuesday 4 June at 19:00 on SKY digital channel 212 and Freesat channel 401.
