Paul Mansfield has been appointed as the new managing director and chief operating officer of Kidderminster-based
Amada UK Ltd, effective from 1 April. Having worked for Amada, a leading manufacturer of sheet metal machinery for almost 25 years, he is well known to staff and customers throughout Europe and brings extensive knowledge and management experience to the role.
The new position will run concurrently with his existing role as COO of Amada Maquinaria Ibérica in Spain. Mr Mansfield succeeds Steve Basford who remains with the company as a special advisor, focused on customer relations.
Speaking at the start of Amada UK’s 50th anniversary year celebrations, he said: “It is an honour to be chosen for this position and I appreciate the opportunity to continue the hard work begun by my predecessors as we look forward to the next 50 years.
“It is an exciting time in the manufacturing industry as we start to realise the potential of IoT
connectivity and the opportunities it gives for flexible, efficient production in a changing world.
