With the opening of a purpose-built showroom in Zabrze today, UK-based
XYZ Machine Tools is embarking on a programme of expansion in Poland. The new showroom is strategically placed in the south of the country with easy motorway access to Poland’s industrial heartland.
Visitors will get to see the potential of the ProtoTRAK control system, with eight machines on display from the ProtoTRAK range of bed mills, alongside lathes, the portable 2-OP and TMC machining centres.
In support of the new showroom, Piotr Madeja and Jan Wyremba have been appointed as new XYZ sales managers. Mr Madeja has a wealth of experience in cutting tool sales and applications, while Mr Wyremba’s experience is in machine tool sales, working for leading manufacturers.

Howard Bamforth, XYZ Machine Tools export sales manager, said: “In Piotr and Jan, we have found a good balance of experience that will translate into significant growth for the XYZ Machine Tools brand in the coming months and years.
“While the current situation in Ukraine has had some impact on manufacturing in the region, we are confident that we can see significant sales growth over the next 18 months to two years. These appointments and the opening of the Zabrze showroom are a starting point in a project that will see XYZ Machine Tools investing further in Poland.
“Alongside this, we can offer training and have an appointed Service Partner in Poland, enabling us to provide installation and any service requirements moving forward. Both of which are supported from our factory in Devon if required with, for example spare parts dispatched within 24hr.”
Mr Madeja and Mr Wyremba started their employment on the 1 October and have spent a month at XYZ Machine Tools headquarters and factory in Burlescombe undergoing intensive product training. This will enable them to be confident making presentations and demonstrations, both in the showroom and in customers’ factories as they get to work today (1 November). A series of open houses are planned for February 2023, with more details to follow early next year.
