Walker Engineering announces bumper start to 2023Skelmersdale-based Walker Engineering, a provider of mechanical and electrical fabrication, installation and maintenance across the UK, has announced a bumper start to 2023 with 10 new large projects, worth over £725,000, already secured.

Walker Engineering’s latest project wins span the length and breadth of the country, from Glasgow in the north to Preston, Birkenhead, Cambridge and Lowestoft on the south east coast and include ancillary support works, project support and project management for Timothy Taylor’s Brewery upgrade in Keighley, West Yorkshire (£110,000), pipework modifications and improvements on a fertiliser storage tank farm in Perth, Scotland (£100,000) and civils and cladding work on a 360m2 silo structural steel building in Preston (£200,000).

With over £1.5 million worth of work also quoted for in January, Walker Engineering are already well on course to better its record turnover of £3.9 million from the previous year.

Andy Walker, managing director, Walker Engineering, said: “2023 has seen immense growth for the company, with the foundations laid throughout the previous year really helping us consolidate and expand into new sectors and other parts of the UK. The projects that we have won already this year showcase the strength of our team and our operations, and we will now be looking to win further work by providing exemplary service on site throughout the weeks and months to come.”

The company’s workshop is currently in the process of preparing two 80m3 steel storage vessels for delivery to a client by mid-February, with more projects set to be confirmed and worked on in the near future.

Walker Engineering is fully accredited, holding ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. All structural steelwork supplied by the company is also fully compliant with CE marking to BS: EN 1090-1 Execution Class 2, in order to meet legislation applied in July 2014.
