Following
Vistry Group’s acquisition of Countryside Partnership, the house-building company has confirmed that the latter’s landmark Bardon manufacturing facility in Coalville, Leicestershire, will be retained by the group and will see significant investment to ensure the facility can run efficiently and at capacity.
Vistry Group hopes to utilise the Bardon facility to service internal delivery but with the capacity to work alongside SMEs that work with housing associations on delivery of their own programmes.
As part of this commitment and developing the facility, upgrades and reconfigurations of the existing production line will take place to enable Vistry Group to have one design across its three manufacturing facilities.
As a result of the changes,
Walker Singleton has now been appointed to market and sell the components that are surplus to requirements. Stephen Jones, director in the machinery and business assets department at Walker Singleton, said: “Significant interest was forthcoming in our initial marketing. Although we are no longer offering the line in its entirety, now four component elements, we envisage further strong interest, with the industry having the knowledge that these items are in as new condition, having had very little throughput. The line has been designed to produce an advanced closed panel product supporting the move to Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).”
