TR Fastenings celebrates 50th anniversary at Advanced EngineeringUckfield-based TR Fastenings Ltd, part of the Trifast plc Group, will be celebrating its 50th anniversary at Advanced Engineering taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 1-2 November (Stand K140). Since 1973, the company has evolved from a fastener distributor into a global assembly partner, developing delivery operations and providing design and engineering support to its customers with a portfolio of over 50,000 products.

The Group supplies to customers in 75 countries across a wide range of industries. Furthermore, as a full-service provider to multinational OEMs and Tier One companies spanning several sectors, the company delivers comprehensive support to its customers, from concept design through to technical engineering consultancy, manufacturing, supply management and global logistics.

The fasteners the company manufactures have changed over that time with advancements in plastics, composites and the use of more exotic materials. These changes have required fastenings to evolve particularly in areas such as plastic mouldings where thread forms have been designed and developed to perform in new materials. The changing fastener requirements continues today within the eletric vehicle (EV) and battery housings space as customers require differing fasteners often manufactured in exotic materials and electrostatic finishes. TR has recently made a significant investment into new machinery which will increase production capacity by 33% to meet customer demand.

TR Fastenings will be showcasing application case studies across a broad spectrum of industries at Advanced Engineering to illustrate its range and capability and ability to solve fastener application issues through suggesting alternatives. Two screens within its new purpose-built stand will focus on the fastener product animations and videos that TR are known for. These are great training tools to lift the lid on what products are used in assemblies.

TR Fasteners says that it is now being seen as not just simply a fastener supplier as it now has capabilities in sourcing and manufacturing product assemblies incorporating spring parts and other components.
