Pemamek Ltd (a Finnish welding automation company) and
Mitsubishi Corporation Technos (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation with expertise in industries that include clean energy, transportation equipment, shipbuilding, and sheet metal) have established a ‘strategic partnership’ in the Japanese markets, with the aim of creating a winning business concept primarily for the wind energy and shipbuilding sectors by ‘leveraging the strengths of both companies’.
Yuji Kiya, Mitsubishi Corporation Technos’s senior manager and project manager for the company’s offshore wind project office (Industrial Machinery Division), said: “In Japan, the offshore wind industry is growing rapidly. The highly advanced welding technology, in-house software, and extensive expertise were some of the reasons why we wanted to establish a collaboration with Pemamek. In the shipbuilding production automation industry, PEMA is a highly respected brand. As a trusted technology partner, we aim to collaborate with the best companies to provide added value for our clients.”
Jaakko Heikonen, Pemamek’s vice chairman, concluded: “With this partnership, we aim to accelerate the growth of offshore wind-energy markets and introduce well-known PEMA shipyard automation technology to Japanese markets. Together with Mitsubishi Corporation Technos, we can expand our coverage and create new possibilities for PEMA welding and production automation solutions.”
