Belfast-based Andor Technology has signed deals worth £250,000 in Russia, following a recent Invest Northern Ireland trade mission.
The company secured two contracts with leading university research institutes in Moscow; it will supply an imaging system and scientific cameras for researchers working in neuro-chemistry. This follows Andor’s participation in a 15-strong Invest NI mission to Moscow and other business centres in Russia.
Mary Duseau, Andor Technology’s global sales director, said: “The contracts are with a new and influential client in Moscow; they are the outcome of discussions over the past two months. The Invest NI trade mission came at the right time, giving us the opportunity to make a detailed face-to-face presentation about our advanced technology — particularly our leading-edge 3-D visualisation software.
“The client was immensely impressed by our innovative technology, and the deal was signed within days of the meeting, providing a tremendous boost for us in a market that we’ve targeted for faster growth. This will enhance our position as a leader in the manufacture of scientific camera systems in Russia, especially with major research institutes.”
