The ByCut Smart 3015 — the successor to the popular BySmart Fiber and launched by
Bystronic last year — is now available for sheets up to 4 x 2m in the form of the new ByCut Smart 4020. It can be equipped with laser powers from 3 to 15kW and is also ‘ready for automation’.
Coventry-based
Bystronic UK said: “Automation solutions for fibre laser cutting have a clear advantage for the user, as they increase the utilisation of the laser cutting system to the maximum and minimise time-consuming material handling. Both these benefits mean jobs can be cut faster and more cost-effectively than before, which in turn leads to greater competitiveness.
“Moreover, the 4020 is also available with the new, heavy-duty shuttle table design. This allows the ByCut Smart to be loaded with material up to 40mm thick over the entire surface of both tables or 60mm over the entire surface of one table. This arrangement accommodates a significantly higher maximum load on the shuttle table compared to the current 30mm and allows the cutting of much thicker parts for even greater production flexibility.”
Ulrike Laubner-Kelleher, product manager (cutting) at Bystronic, added: “The new ByCut Smart 4020 offers our customers the opportunity to cut sheets measuring 4 x 2m quickly and to a high standard of quality. This means that more and larger parts can be cut per pass, thereby reducing production costs, while providing more competitive advantages and greater profitability.
“The ByCut Smart — either the 3015 or 4020 — are characterised by a high level of configurability. Also incorporated are smart features such as the nozzle control tool (NCT) and KerfScan, the Parameter Wizard, or cutting with MixGas in addition to high laser power, thereby ensuring higher cutting quality as well as increased productivity. Moreover, this machine can undertake a wide range of applications. In addition to steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, it can also process non-ferrous metals with first-class cutting quality.”
