TCB recognised with King’s Award for EnterpriseWrexham-headquartered manufacturer Tension Control Bolts Ltd (TCB) has been recognised with a King's Award for Enterprise in the international trade category — exports have grown by an impressive 700% in just the last six years. The firm currently exports around 20 million bolts to over 30 countries worldwide each year. The company has also provided some one million bolts for the New Safe Confinement structure to confine the remains of the number 4 reactor unit at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine. In addition, the TCB has also supplied bolts to other major projects such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and infrastructure for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The company’s largest export markets include the Netherlands, Germany, Australia, France, and Portugal, and the firm’s high-tech bolts are used in the construction of some of the world’s most iconic steel structures such as skyscrapers, football stadia, bridges, and nuclear power plants.

TCB has also supplied over 9 million bolts for wind-turbine projects around the world, making an important contribution to a greener future, and supplies bolting assemblies for safety-critical infrastructure including rail track joints, and train and truck chassis.

Furthermore, the firm’s environmentally friendly coating called Greenkote is longer-lasting, harder-wearing and more cost-effective than conventional types of zinc coating and is approved by international motor manufacturers including General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Audi.

TCB managing director Tim Stokes said: “We are thrilled to be recognised with a King’s Award for Enterprise for our contribution to UK exports. The UK is a great trading nation and is home to so many manufacturing companies shipping their goods to major infrastructure projects around the world. This is something as a country we should be incredibly proud of. I would like to pay tribute to our dedicated staff who work long hours to produce some of the most advanced bolts available on the market today.”
