Automation UK shortlisted for AEO Excellence AwardsAutomation UK has been shortlisted for the Best UK Event Launch award at this year’s AEO Excellence Awards. The prestigious ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on the 14 June, celebrates the very best of what the event industry offers. The Best UK Event Launch award aims to honour new events that stand out for their exceptional planning and execution, and Automation UK certainly meets the criteria.

Organised by the British Automation and Robot Association (BARA), the inaugural Automation UK show took place in June 2023 at the CBS Arena in Coventry. The event attracted over 1,000 visitors keen to discover the latest cutting-edge automation and robotics technology, while exhibitors seized the opportunity to showcase their ‘state of the art’ products. The show proved to be a roaring success, with BARA pledging to double the size of Automation UK 2024 to meet exhibitor demand.

Commenting on Automation UK’s nomination for the award, George Thompson, BARA’s chairman, said: “Everyone at BARA is delighted by the news that Automation UK is in contention for the Best UK Event Launch at this year’s AEO Excellence Awards. We were incredibly proud of what the first-ever Automation UK show achieved, and we are pleased that it is getting the praise and recognition it deserves.”

He continued: “The automation and robotics sector has emerged as a vital part of the global economy. At BARA, we are passionate about playing a key role in the development of the automation technology in the UK, and we look forward to seeing what Automation UK 2024 will accomplish.”

BARA has been at the forefront of the UK’s automation and robotics sector for many years, liaising with Government, financial, and academic bodies to emphasise the importance of the industry to the UK economy. BARA has been part of Automate UK since 2009, a leading trade association dedicated to championing the adoption of robotics and automation technology.

This year’s AEO Excellence Awards promises to be a memorable occasion. With an Ibiza beach party theme for a whimsical touch, the ceremony is set to draw in some of the event industry’s most successful professionals and businesses.
