Meltio partners with Jupiter and Union MT on new solution

Spanish company Meltio, a developer of DED (directed energy deposition) additive manufacturing (AM) technology, has announced a new partnership with Jupiter Machine Tool Inc (JMT) and the machine tool builder Union MT.

The three companies have entered into an OEM manufacturing agreement that creates a partnership dedicated to developing and selling hybrid CNC machines. This tri-lateral partnership forms a global team that combines engineering and field service with marketing and sales.

The US company Jupiter Machine Tool Inc — based in Galesburg, Illinois, and a ‘total solutions provider for the manufacturing industry’ — offers a comprehensive portfolio of CNC machines and tooling solutions, as well as augmented reality and virtual reality industrial solutions. The company provides engineering support, process improvement, quality control, service support, and production equipment to leading manufacturers in the automotive, aerospace, defence, medical, agricultural, transportation, 3C (computer, communication and consumer electronics), and mining — plus others. This new collaboration with Meltio allows the introduction of the ‘Meltio Engine CNC Integration’ into a Jupiter Machine Tool portfolio.

Emilio Juárez, Meltio’s sales director, said: “Meltio’s main commitment with this new partnership with Jupiter Machine Tool is to offer all types of industries in North America the ability to manage the entire manufacturing process using our unique metal 3-D printing technology integrated into a CNC machine that can produce and repair parts.”
