Fulterer AG are used, among other things, for cabinet drawers in the catering industry, commercial vehicles and various other businesses. The manufacturer, which has production sites in Lustenau near Bregenz in Austria and in neighbouring St Margrethen in Switzerland, ordered an 800-tonne Triton servo press from
Schuler for the first time, which is now being delivered. The system not only has an electronic, highly dynamic three-axis transfer, but also the Ecoform package and several digital solutions.
For example, its DigiSim simulation software enables a virtual clearance analysis and stroke rate optimisation even before the press goes into operation. The scope of supply also includes machine apps for production data and press force evaluation as well as for the analysis of the drive system, cooling and lubrication circuit. The Ecoform package ensures a sustainable and efficient forming process that conserves resources, reduces energy costs and significantly minimises the CO
2 footprint.
Schuler first presented the modular Triton press concept to the general public at
Blechexpo 2021. The machines, which are available with mechanical or servo drive, already have all the prerequisites for digital solutions. In addition, many Triton systems use the same components, increasing the availability of spare parts.
Schuler is supplying the 800-tonne servo press for Fulterer in ‘tie rod design’ with a 4.6m-long and 2m-wide table for the production of the pull-out systems, which offer a load capacity of 600kg. Fulterer employs 250 people at eight locations in six countries and is 100% family-owned.
The company was founded in 1956 by Dr Karl Fulterer, who passed it over to his two sons Manfred and Heinz Fulterer in 1988. In 1989, the first overseas branch in the USA followed, and in 2007 the takeover of Merz-Meyer AG in nearby St Margrethen in Switzerland. Since 2019, the company has been represented in China and Mexico, and in Brazil since 2022.
Schuler will be presenting its latest solutions for forming technology at
EuroBLECH 2024 taking place 22-25 October in Hanover (Hall 27, Stand G82).
