Roxtec targets Irish energy sector with new appointmentBryan O’Loughlin, Roxtec technical sales manager

Leading cable and pipe seal manufacturer Roxtec is further strengthening its presence in Ireland with the appointment of Bryan O’Loughlin as technical sales manager, energy and infrastructure. This follows the appointment of Ian Gunn to a similar role last year. In this new position, Mr O'Loughlin will spearhead Roxtec’s growth strategy in Ireland across various industries, ranging from pharmaceutical to marine and offshore and wind and solar power.

Sweden-headquartered Roxtec is also expanding in Ireland’s large-scale data centre market. Mr O’Loughlin’s role will involve managing client relationships, overseeing installations, ensuring testing and compliance in line with industry safety standards and contributing to Roxtec’s overarching mission to protect lives and assets.

Mr O'Loughlin, who is from County Clare, has a strong background in engineering and sales and a wealth of experience gained by working in a wide range of industries over the course of his 10-year career. Discussing the appointment, Roxtec’s managing director Clive Sharp, said: “We are delighted to welcome Bryan to Roxtec to drive growth across our key sectors. We have seen significant demand in data centres over the last 10 years and that is being supercharged by artificial intelligence (AI). As a result we are already working with some of the biggest tech firms in the world across multiple data centre projects in Ireland, which Bryan will be supporting. This experience is giving Roxtec a real edge in the data centre industry as our products protect them against fire, flooding, air or gas leakage, humidity and electromagnetic disturbances to ensure nonstop operations.”

Mr O’Loughlin, who was educated at the National University of Galway, added: “I wanted a career change and was attracted to the position by Roxtec’s ambition, its genuinely fascinating product offering and how I could apply my existing skillset to the role. Enormous opportunities exist for the business in Ireland and the scope I have to help grow its team and presence here is truly exciting.”

Drive innovation

He continued: “At Roxtec, I will be committed to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of the latest industry trends and advancements. My goal is to drive innovation and excellence in every project I undertake, fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. I am also looking forward to developing even more relationships, all while working for a global leader with a massive reputation for engineering excellence across a huge range of sectors. The ultimate aim is for Roxtec’s unique products to become more recognised and specified, particularly throughout large scale data centres, which marks the start of an exciting new era for the business.”

Roxtec’s transit frames and modules offer the highest fire resistance rating and unrivalled aesthetics all at the same time. This allows for multiple adaptability and expansion possibilities, without having to compromise air flow and tightness in data centres. This, in turn, minimises the risk of internal wall penetration, which can be both costly and unsightly.

Additionally, Roxtec’s cable and pipe seals have achieved a two-hour fire rating certification for use with insulated wall panels. They also offer bespoke solutions for underground pits and roof top entry points which provide users with the guarantee that they are protected from multiple hazards. Roxtec UK and Ireland, which is headquartered in Bury, Greater Manchester, is also working with several leading technology providers in the ‘green’ hydrogen sector, providing its unique solutions for cable and pipe sealing.

Roxtec’s cable and pipe seals can be found in a range of process industries, including mining and metals, onshore oil, gas and petrochemical, as well as pulp and paper plants. They are used to protect people and assets from multiple hazards including fire, flooding, the risk of explosion and electromagnetic disturbances. The company entered the marketplace in 1990 and is now active in more than 80 markets worldwide, has a turnover of more than £220 million, and a team of 29 in Bury.
