Efficient small-batch production from HurcoMaking machining more efficient and precise when producing one-offs and small batches will be Hurco Europe Ltd’s key theme at Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2025 (Stand G200), taking place next week 4-6 February in Farnborough. The company will also be demonstrating the very latest software developments available on its Max5, a 19in colour touchscreen control that offers easy programming of first-off parts via simple conversational prompts that guide the user through the stages of the program — and on-line help is available live at the control. The latest developments in Hurco’s ‘Solid Model Import’ option will also be demonstrated; this allows conversational programs to be created directly from an STP file.

Hurco will be showing two of its most popular machines — the VM10i and the TM6i. The Hurco VM10i three-axis vertical machining centre is a compact machine with a 660 x 406 x 508mm work envelope, an 11kW 12,000rev/min spindle, 24-tool ATC, and rapids of 28m/min. Steel-cutting demonstrations will take place throughout the show.

The Hurco TM6i two-axis slant-bed driven-tool CNC lathe. This can turn parts up to 316mm in diameter x 340mm long, accommodate bar work up to 45mm in diameter; it also features a 12-station turret and a 13kW spindle. The machine is complemented by a Max5 control offering easy-to-follow graphics that guide the user through all operations and tooling selection, while the new XP model enhancements mean that concurrent programming, improved graphics, and roller guideways are now standard features. The lathe is also supplied with a 6in three-jaw hydraulic chuck, parts catcher, and swarf conveyor.
