Daltons Wadkin appoints fibre laser specialist to drive growthNottingham-based Daltons Wadkin, a leading UK industrial machinery supplier, has expanded its team with the appointment of a specialist to lead the company’s fibre laser and sheet metal offering. Adrian Wright has joined the family-run business this month as its fibre laser sales manager, bringing over three decades of experience in the fibre laser and sheet metal market, having worked for some of the most prestigious names in the industry.

He will now take the lead on managing Daltons Wadkin’s exclusive partnership with Kimla, a Polish CNC and fibre laser manufacturer, to grow the number of fibre laser installations in the UK and Ireland. Daltons Wadkin has been the sole distributor of Kimla’s range of cutting-edge CNC routers and fibre laser cutters since 2022, and they two companies have enjoyed a 15-year partnership. Daltons Wadkin recently unveiled the all-new Kimla five-axis ‘mini-mill’, an exclusive for the UK market, at its Wood and Panel Machinery Open House last October.

The company also exhibited its ‘state of the art’ sheet metal and composite machining solutions at MACH 2024, the first time it had taken part in the exhibition since 1996. With strong interest at the event, Alex Dalton, the company’s managing director decided that the next important step would be to appoint a specialist to build on the successful components already in place to continue driving growth in the sheet metal market.

Deep knowledge and expertise

He said: “We are excited to welcome Adrian to lead our fibre laser division. His deep knowledge and expertise in the sheet metal arena and fibre laser sector is exactly what we need to fuel further growth. Kimla’s fibre laser technology is truly cutting edge, supported by our robust network of trained engineers in the UK and Ireland. Adrian’s appointment is the last piece of the jigsaw, allowing us to bring these components together and advance confidently in the market.”

Mr Wright said: “I look forward to the fantastic opportunity to showcase the Kimla range of products, including the renowned Kimla fibre lasers. Kimla and Dalton Wadkin have built up a tremendously close working relationship over the past 15 years, which I intend to fully utilise and embrace when introducing these machines to our customers.

“Key to our success will be showcasing our machines to their fullest potential via live demonstrations in either Nottingham or Poland. Kimla is not just a machine builder but is a true innovator invested in developing a fibre laser machine from the ground up. In-house Designed and manufacturing linear motors, and their unique design, are just two examples of what makes a Kimla fibre laser cut materials faster with unrivalled part quality.”
