TIMTOS 2025 to embrace its 30th anniversary milestoneTIMTOS, one of the world’s leading smart manufacturing and machine tool expos, will celebrate its 30th anniversary at this year’s show taking place from 3-8 March, 2025, in Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2, and Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. Co-organised by TAITRA and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), the exhibition has so far attracted over 1,000 exhibitors and will feature more than 6,100 booths, solidifying the show’s status as a globally recognised smart manufacturing and machine tool show. TIMTOS 2025 will showcase pioneering advancements in digital manufacturing, automation, and integrated artificial intellience (AI) robotics solutions, driving innovation in multiple sectors beyond traditional machine tools.

Furthermore, to mark its 30th edition, TIMTOS 2025 will see the introduction of a new TIMTOS Keynote programme, where global leaders from the smart manufacturing sector will be invited to present keynote speeches, positioning TIMTOS as a premier platform for groundbreaking technology announcements and thought leadership.

The morning Keynote session will feature top global and Taiwanese industry leaders discussing the future of smart manufacturing. Distinguished keynote speakers include Akihiro Teramachi, chairman and CEO of Japan’s THK Group, and Haw Chen, CEO of Taiwan’s Techman Robot, both delivering insights into industry advancements. The afternoon Forum will host executives from Tokyo Seimitsu, Fair Friend Group (FFG), Siemens, and HIWIN, unveiling the critical competitive advantages in future manufacturing. This high-profile event will provide key insights into how industries worldwide can embrace AI and smart manufacturing to drive transformation in the machine tool sector.

TIMTOSIn addition, TIMTOS will host various events such as procurement meetings, ESG activities, green product competitions, and guided tours, further strengthening the manufacturing industry’s eco-system.

The theme of TIMTOS 2025 will be ‘Integrate to Innovate’, emphasising how integration and innovation are key to unlocking new business opportunities in five major sectors — ‘semiconductors’, ‘transportation’, ‘medical’, ‘aerospace’, and ‘green energy’. The exhibition will also feature two new exhibition areas — ‘AI, Control Systems and Smart Manufacturing’ and ‘Innovation Technology’ — which will focus on AI technology integration, smart solutions development for the machine tool industry, and cutting-edge technologies such as manufacturing system integration, laser processing, the circular economy, and energy-saving solutions.

Accelerating industrial transformation

In response to the growing adoption of AI across industrial sectors, TIMTOS 2025 aims to accelerate industrial transformation with three key themes — ‘AI and Robotics’, ‘Future Smart Manufacturing’, and ‘Green Power and Sustainability’.

Tech giants like Apple and Nvidia are making strides in the ‘AI and Robotics’ field, and many Taiwanese exhibitors have successfully entered the supply chains of leading US robotics manufacturers, sparking a new wave of growth in Taiwan’s robotics supply chain.

‘Future Smart Manufacturing’ will focus on AI-driven smart factories where robotics and cloud-based automation systems take centre stage. As part of the Industry 4.0 revolution, these future factories will leverage big data, AI, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to drive forward manufacturing. From component design to polishing and quality control, each production process will be automated via cloud and edge computing, addressing labour shortages and paving the way for fully automated, unmanned factories.

TIMTOSThe ‘Green Power and Sustainability’ theme will guide manufacturers towards achieving ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals, accelerating the green transformation of the machine tool industry. Reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency are now unavoidable trends, and future developments will prioritise human-machine collaboration. Smart manufacturing and automation are seen as key to enhancing productivity while achieving energy-saving goals. The exhibition’s three main themes will be interconnected, showcasing TIMTOS’s 30 editions of accumulated strength as a vital force for the development of Taiwan’s machine tool industry.

TAITRA announced that in 2025, it would expand invitations to buyers from Taiwan’s major machine tool export markets and emerging markets to visit and exhibit at TIMTOS. A total of 78 countries and over 2,200 international buyers have already pre-registered. Leading machine tool nations such as Germany, the USA, and Switzerland have organised national pavilions.

Furthermore, TIMTOS continues to receive strong backing from top domestic and international brands, including Fair Friend Group (FFG), Tongtai Group, Victor Taichung, Hiwin, You Ji, Chmer, YCM, and Taiwan Takisawa, alongside global names including Siemens, Heidenhain, Fanuc, Mazak, and Mitsubishi, which are all set to showcase their latest models and smart manufacturing solutions.
