JETCAM International, a global leader in advanced manufacturing software, has announced an update to its free CAD Viewer, offering users an enhanced experience with several new features and usability improvements, providing faster and more intuitive viewing of 2D CAD files on Windows PCs.
Key enhancements include: automatic dark/light mode — adapts to a Windows theme for a seamless viewing experience; 32-bit and 64-bit versions — the 64-bit version supports larger memory loads which is ideal for managing folders with many component files; layer visibility control — users can show or hide individual layers in DXF and JETCAM files, making it easier to isolate and inspect key data such as bend lines; raw data viewing — access block and raw content data from DXF files for in-depth analysis; and JETCAM integration — right-click on a JETCAM component to instantly open it in JETCAM Expert (when set as the default application).
The JETCAM CADViewer is a lightweight tool that requires little memory or hard disk space. It is designed to be installed alongside existing CAD/CAM software to provide a fast, one-click viewing of CAD files.The viewer is free, ‘as is’ and without warranty. It can be installed on an unlimited number of computers.
The software solution is available completely free with no adverts, no spyware, and no internet connection needed. It requires under 100MB of memory to run, includes: a tree view for local and mapped network drives to ensure easy navigation of files; it displays thumbnail images of supported 2D CAD files including JGF, DWG, DXF, and IGES; has customisable default viewer settings so it can be selected for specific file types during installation; and it also has built-in measurement tools to display part scale, as well as pan and zoom in the vector view.
