AML3D extends European distribution network

AML3D extends European distribution networkAML3D Ltd, which is headquartered in Adelaide, Australia, and has a US facility in Ohio, last month appointed Arc Additive Ltd as a non-exclusive, UK and Europe distribution partner for a period of two years. Arc is a Scotland-based supplier of large-scale metal wire-arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) solutions, and the company’s ‘manufacturing expertise and target markets throughout the UK and Europe align with AML3D’s growth strategy for Europe’.

AML3D, which announced plans to invest AU$5 million in establishing a European technology base as a key part of its growth strategy following a successful capital raise in late 2024, says it has received ‘strong demand signals’ from the UK defence market — similar to those that underpinned AML3D’s successful entry into the US defence market — and signed a material feasibility contract with BAE Systems UK in the June 2025 quarter.

AML3D’s CEO Sean Ebert said: “We are seeing the same demand signals in Europe that are driving our phenomenal growth in not only the USA across defence but also utilities and energy. We are very much looking to roll out our US playbook in Europe, and that includes leveraging third-party distributors in Europe, as well as establishing a technology centre in Europe — like we did at Stow, Ohio. Plans also include supporting the AUKUS defence partners — we already have a contract with BAE systems in the UK.”

Industrial-scale innovation

Jamie Mincher, Arc Additive’s managing director, said: “I have long believed that the future of manufacturing lies in strong partnerships and bold technology. AML3D’s ARCEMY platform is a brilliant example of industrial-scale innovation, and it has been a pleasure working with its team. We are proud to support AML3D’s entry into the UK market and look forward to seeing this collaboration unlock new capabilities for industry throughout the region.

AML3D last week appointed DMFG Solutions GmbH (DMFG) as a second, non-exclusive European distribution partner. DMFG is a German technology and solution provider for the AM of metal components using arc welding.

AML3D’s CEO Sean Ebert said: “The appointment of DMFG as a European distributor, so soon after signing the Arc Additive distribution deal that covered the UK and Europe, builds strong foundations for growth. Although the demand profile in Europe is at an earlier stage than the current demand profile in the USA, where we are enjoying exception growth, it is moving along the same trajectory.

DMFG CEO Tobias Krümberg concluded: “The potential of large-scale AM technologies, particularly within the European defence and manufacturing sectors, remains largely untapped. Yet, we are seeing steadily increasing demand for flexible, on-shore manufacturing capacity. DMFG is proud to partner with AML3D to accelerate the commercial deployment of WAAM technology across key European industrial markets. We believe that the combination of proven technology and a focused go-to-market strategy delivers compelling value for our customers in Europe.”
