Sharon Eighteen promoted to operations director at MGSAs part of their ongoing growth strategy, specialist supplier of geotechnical and ground source heat products, MGS, has promoted Sharon Eighteen to the position of operations director. The promotion comes as the Bury St Edmunds-based business looks to further scale its operations, boost productivity and strengthen cross-department leadership and cooperation across the business.

To support the next phase of development, MGS has elevated Sharon from her role as head of operations to operations director. She said: “From collaborating with the team to establish our new pipe-extrusion facility, to strengthening the way our departments work together, my journey here at MGS has been hugely rewarding. I am incredibly proud to step into the role of operations director at such an exciting time and I look forward to building on the strong foundations we have created.”

Sharon has brought a wealth of experience managing operations teams for retail and manufacturing businesses – skills that earned her a position at MGS in 2023. Initially starting as MGS’ head of operations, she oversaw the purchasing, engineering, production, warehousing and logistics departments, consistently demonstrating herself as a capable leader who could take on a higher position.

In her new role, she will take on a more strategic role - improving communications, refining internal systems and establishing clearer, more productive processes. Alongside operational improvements, she will continue to prioritise making day-to-day tasks smoother for her team, ‘enabling them to do their best work while fostering a culture where employees feel supported’.

Leadership and ability

MGS managing director Anthony Stupak said: “We are extremely pleased with the impact Sharon continues to have on our company. Her leadership and ability to bring people together make her the ideal person to step into the operations director role — and we are excited to have her play such a pivotal role as we enter the next phase of our growth.”

Established in 1988, MGS has been a trusted supplier of specialist products used in ground investigation, geothermal and water well drilling, railway drainage, and landfill gas extraction.
With over three decades of experience supporting large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the UK, MGS is known for delivering quality, expertise and engineering excellence.

She concluded: “MGS has ambitious plans, a dedicated team and a clear direction ahead. My focus remains on ensuring these ambitions are met, that our operations continue to evolve and that we build upon our collaborative team culture that makes MGS such a great place to work!”
