Trumpf, one of the world’s leading providers of machine tools, laser technology, and industrial electronics, will unveil a completely redesigned TruBend 3000 series at
Blechexpo 2025 taking place in Stuttgart from 21-24 October, bringing a host of premium features to the mid-market segment. The new machine, which is said to reduce throughput time by around 40% compared to its predecessor, draws on technologies previously reserved for the company’s flagship TruBend 5000 range.
Trumpf product manager Wolfgang Weingartsberger, said: “With the new TruBend 3000 bending machine, we are offering users a technologically advanced all-round machine with which they can process around 85 per cent of all components in sheet metal production. The machine’s productivity and part accuracy are among the best in this segment.”
The TruBend 3000 is available with a press force of 85 to 230 tonnes and a bending length of 2 to 4m, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Trumpf has placed a strong emphasis on automation and precision, integrating its proven ACB Laser automatic angle measuring system. This system, which uses a combination of camera and laser sensors, checks the bending angle before each operation and automatically adjusts the press beam if necessary. The result, according to Trumpf, is consistently high part quality from the very first component, even when material properties fluctuate. Scrap is reduced, which in turn lowers costs.

Programming has also been made more straightforward thanks to the inclusion of Trumpf’s TecZone Bend offline programming software. Operators can upload 2-D or 3-D models and, within seconds, the software determines the correct bending sequence and tool selection, complete with collision monitoring. Mr Weingartsberger continued: “Our analyses have shown that small and medium-size companies are struggling above all with increasing cost and time pressure and declining part quality. Our new bending machine solves this challenge.”
Energy efficiency is another area where the new machine stands out. The speed-controlled On-Demand Servo Drive ensures that the motor only runs during the bending process, resulting in energy savings of up to 30% compared to conventional hydraulic drives. Furthermore, operator safety has not been overlooked. The Bend Guard system, which employs cameras and matrix sensors, monitors the working area and halts the machine if it detects anything other than the component — such as an operator’s hand. Mr Weingartsberger explained: “Bending in particular can lead to serious injuries, such as crushing — our ‘Bend Guard’ offers machine operators comprehensive protection.”
The TruBend 3000 is designed with digital integration in mind, offering all the necessary interfaces to connect with other Trumpf solutions, including automated warehouses. Users also benefit from TRUMPF’s digital services, such as condition monitoring and remote support via the Trumpf Service App. Weingartsberger added: “This allows around 80% of faults to be rectified without the need for a service technician on site and without any waiting time.”
Aimed squarely at small and medium-size businesses, particularly contract manufacturers and job shops, the new TruBend 3000 promises to deliver high productivity, accuracy, and safety, all while keeping running costs in check.
