Spike Aerospace — a company ‘dedicated to reintroducing supersonic flight for commercial and private use’ — says it has made significant progress in the development of its Spike S-512 Diplomat supersonic business jet. Spike says this aircraft is designed to deliver safe, quiet, and fuel-efficient supersonic travel over both land and water, and will be capable of achieving New York to Paris in under 4hr — without a disruptive sonic boom.
The company is building on a strong technical foundation of research and development (R&D) along with multiple design iterations, and is now completing an enhanced study to further refine the S-512 Diplomat’s aerodynamics, cabin configuration, and low-boom performance, the aim being to validate the aircraft’s ability to meet stringent noise requirements for overland supersonic flight, as this capability that would dramatically expand route flexibility and reduce travel times across the globe.
