AM Group acquires UBC CompositesAM Group has announced the acquisition of UBC Composites, a European leader in high-performance carbon fibre components, in a move that significantly enhances its capabilities across premium automotive and advanced industrial sectors.

UBC Composites, with production sites in Murr, Germany and Kostolné Kračany, Slovakia, brings decades of expertise in engineering, prototyping, and serial production of carbon fibre parts for both structural and aesthetic applications. The company’s reputation for precision and innovation has earned it a trusted position among OEMs and high-end customers across Europe.

The acquisition marks a strategic expansion for AM Group, which is now poised to deliver even greater value to customers in demanding sectors such as defence, aerospace, marine, and renewable energy. All 170 UBC employees will remain in place, ensuring continuity of service and safeguarding the technical know-how that has made UBC a benchmark in composite manufacturing.

Carbon fibre production

Luis Carrera and Patrick Meijer, founders of AM Group, said: “With UBC, we are not only adding world-class carbon fibre production to our group, but also a strong team and a proven reputation for quality and innovation. This acquisition moves AM Group firmly into the ‘Champions League’ of premium automotive engineering and advanced composites.”

UBC will continue to operate under its existing leadership, with no changes to employment terms or facility locations. The integration promises new investment and access to AM Group’s global customer base, creating a platform for accelerated growth and product development.

Peter Gerl, managing director of UBC Composites, concluded: “AM Group brings the right combination — financial strength, direct new business, and a strategic fit with our expertise in high-end carbon fibre. Together we can build on UBC’s reputation and position the company for a strong future.”
