GE Aerospace marks 1,000 engines tested at Três RiosGE Aerospace, a world leader in aviation technology, has reached a major milestone in Brazil with the completion of its 1,000th engine test at the Três Rios facility in Rio de Janeiro state.

The test cell, which began operations in 2018, is the largest and most advanced in Latin America. It specialises in performance and reliability testing of GE Aerospace’s latest engines, including the GEnx and LEAP families (models 1-A and 1-B). Três Rios is one of three GE Aerospace test cells in Brazil, alongside facilities in Petrópolis and at Rio de Janeiro’s GIG International Airport.

Julio Talon, GE Aerospace’s Brazil MRO leader, said: “Reaching the thousandth engine test since 2018 demonstrates not only the reliability of our facilities, but also the trust that our global customers place in Brazilian engineering. We are extremely proud of how Três Rios has become an essential pillar in GE Aerospace's maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) global network.”

GE Aerospace’s Brazilian operations support more than 30 customers worldwide and play a critical role in the company’s global services network. Furtherore, a LEAP-dedicated MRO shop is scheduled to open next year adjacent to the Três Rios test cell, expanding on-site service scope and capacity.
