Faro and Creaform combine to form two new business unitsFaro Technologies and Creaform, both part of Ametem, Inc, have announced a significant restructuring intended to reshape the way industry approaches metrology and reality‑capture workflows. As of today, Faro’s 3D Measurement division is being combined with Creaform to form a new business unit, Faro Creaform, which will offer a unified suite of dimensional measurement solutions aimed at giving manufacturers and maintenance teams greater confidence and operational clarity. At the same time, Faro’s reality‑capture activities will operate under the new banner of Faro Insight, a business unit dedicated to delivering advanced hardware and software that convert physical environments into reliable digital data for a range of sectors.

The reorganisation is designed to create closer alignment between product families, accelerate innovation and strengthen synergies that support long‑term growth. Faro Creaform will be led by Fanny Truchon, who aims to expand the role of portable metrology in industrial processes by improving mobility, usability and overall customer experience. Under her leadership, the combined portfolio will be presented through a single point of contact, offering what the company describes as a more cohesive proposition for manufacturers seeking higher productivity and measurement certainty.

Fanny Truchon said: “Faro Creaform is more than a consolidation. By combining the strength of two leaders, we’re opening possibilities that will empower industries to move from hindsight to foresight. Faro Creaform aims to become the undisputed leader in portable metrology.”

Faro Insight will be overseen by Dietmar Wennemer, who will also continue to lead Virtek Vision. The business unit will focus on delivering a reality‑capture ecosystem designed to take customers from field data to actionable outcomes with greater speed and accuracy. This includes capabilities for rapid data capture, point‑cloud processing and the management and distribution of information across digital‑twin workflows in construction, public safety, mining, and geospatial applications.

Mr Wennemer said: “Faro insight’s approach is simple: we want to digitalise the world. Our hardware and software solutions reduce ambiguity to help track building progress, document changes, digitize crime scenes, structures, mines, forests, and landscapes to provide insights customers can build on.”

Both business units will build on Faro’s four decades of experience in 3D measurement and reality capture, together with Creaform’s extensive track record in handheld metrology since 2002. According to the company, this new structure is intended to provide continuity for customers and partners while ensuring clearer communication, faster development cycles and improved support as the technologies continue to evolve.
