TM Robotics, the official distribution partner for
Shibaura Machine injection moulding machines and automation systems in the UK and Ireland, has appointed Matthew Holyoake as sales manager for its injection moulding machine business across the region. In his new role, Holyoake will support the company’s continued expansion in delivering integrated moulding and automation solutions to a broad range of manufacturing sectors.
Mr Holyoake brings nearly 40 years experience in plastics and injection moulding, spanning engineering, production and senior commercial positions. He began his career with a four‑year electrical and mechanical engineering apprenticeship before progressing into production, shift leadership and manufacturing management. He later moved into sales and international business development, holding senior roles with leading suppliers of injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment. His experience includes 14 years selling moulding machines in the UK, followed by a move into wider European markets with responsibility for masterbatch, additives and machinery.
Mr Holyoake said: “A big part of my role will be building new relationships across sectors like medical, automotive, packaging and trade moulding, where we’re seeing continued growth in demand for injection moulding. At the same time, I’ll be working closely with our existing customers to help them improve space efficiency, flexibility and production rates, using both horizontal and vertical injection moulding machines.”
TM Robotics already supplies Shibaura Machine solutions to medical, automotive and packaging manufacturers, with the all‑electric SXIII series—covering 50 to 3,000 tonnes — providing the precision and repeatability required for tight‑tolerance work. The servo‑hydraulic S‑GenXt series offers moulders an alternative for high‑performance production with lower overall operating costs. The full Shibaura Machine range is available either as standalone machines or complete turnkey cells integrating automation, auxiliary equipment and digital monitoring technologies.
Mr Holyoake said his initial focus will be to review existing and upcoming projects and support the UK team with his sector experience: “My initial focus is to review both new and existing projects, support the UK team with my experience in the injection moulding sector, and introduce customers to the full Shibaura Machine portfolio through visits and market exposure. I’m also looking forward to preparing for
Interplas in June, the UK’s leading plastics manufacturing exhibition held in Birmingham, where we will be showcasing new equipment and demonstrating the breadth of our capabilities.”
TM Robotics’ CEO Nigel Smith said: “We are delighted to welcome Matthew to the team. He brings extensive experience across engineering, production and commercial roles within the plastics and injection moulding industry. His understanding of both the technology and customer requirements will be a real asset as we continue to expand Shibaura Machine’s injection moulding offering across the UK and Ireland.”
