Burcas acquisition reinforces UK supply chain resilienceBurcas Ltd has been acquired by Wright Industries in a move that secures the future of the 78‑year‑old Birmingham precision engineering business and safeguards more than 50 highly skilled jobs. The company, which has built a strong reputation for supporting high‑reliability sectors including aerospace and defence, now becomes part of a broader strategy to reinforce UK supply chain resilience at a time of mounting pressure on domestic engineering firms.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Burcas will join the Connexion Technologies group, where it will operate alongside Accura Engineering. The addition strengthens the group’s mechanical manufacturing capability and expands its ability to support customers working in regulated, mission‑critical environments that demand high levels of quality, reliability and assured continuity of supply.

Connexion Technologies is the UK’s largest independent provider of advanced electronic and mechanical solutions for high‑reliability industries. Bringing Burcas into the group enhances its precision machining expertise while preserving a business with deep heritage, specialist engineering skills and long‑established customer relationships.

Stengthening sovereign capability

The acquisition comes at a pivotal moment for Burcas, ensuring stability for its workforce and customer base while providing the assurance of long‑term investment from a UK‑owned engineering group committed to strengthening sovereign capability.

Craig Wright, chairman and CEO of Wright Industries, said: “This acquisition is about safeguarding sovereign manufacturing capability and protecting the skilled engineering jobs that underpin the UK’s high-reliability supply chains. Burcas Ltd is a highly respected business with a proud heritage and deep expertise in supporting aerospace and defence customers. Bringing Burcas into the Connexion Technologies group ensures stability, continued investment and a secure future for both the workforce and the customers who rely on its capabilities.”

Burcas will continue to operate from its Birmingham facility, supporting existing and future customers while benefitting from the scale, investment strength and long‑term ownership model that Wright Industries brings.
