Cutting-edge metrology solutions on the Mitutoyo stand

Cutting-edge metrology solutions on the Mitutoyo standAndover-based Mitutoyo (UK) Ltd, the world’s leading manufacturer of precision measuring instruments, will showcase its latest metrology solutions at MACH 2026, taking place from 20-24 April 2026 at the NEC, Birmingham, and demonstrate its latest advancements in quality control technology (Hall 19, Stand 530).

Visitors to the stand in the Measurement and Inspection Zone will discover a comprehensive range of vision, form and optical equipment, alongside an extensive selection of general hand tools and demonstrations of MeasurLink-SPC Software.

Leading the line will be the new CRYSTA-Apex V PLUS Series CNC coordinate measuring machine (CMM) which represents a major leap forward in shopfloor metrology. Launched in 2026, this updated series expands the guaranteed accuracy temperature range to 15–30°C — allowing reliable operation in real production environments without a dedicated measuring room. Real-time temperature compensation, advanced reference-point adjustment and a new Air Reduction Function (which stops air supply during standby) combine to deliver outstanding accuracy (as low as 1.8 + 3L/1000μm at standard temperatures) while cutting operating costs and environmental impact. Available in a range of models, the CRYSTA-Apex V PLUS is perfectly suited to aerospace, automotive and general engineering applications.

Fully integrated turnkey solution

Complementing the CMM is the SmartMeasure-AL Automation System – a fully integrated, turnkey solution that brings 24/7 autonomous measurement to the production floor. Compatible with Mitutoyo CMMs including the CRYSTA-Apex V series, the system features a collaborative robot, RFID-tagged pallets (capacity up to 12 workpieces), anti-collision sensors and intuitive Space4Win software. Operators simply load parts and set parameters via a touchscreen HMI; the robot automatically identifies each pallet, selects the correct measuring program, transports the component and returns results – complete with OK/NOK indicators and direct feedback to CNC machines for tool correction. Designed to combat skilled-labour shortages, SmartMeasure-AL delivers consistent, error-free precision while dramatically increasing throughput.

Mitutoyo UK director Chris Pullen said: “MACH 2026 provides the perfect platform to demonstrate how Mitutoyo’s latest technologies can transform quality processes. From the temperature-resilient CRYSTA-Apex V PLUS to the fully automated SmartMeasure-AL, we are delivering solutions that boost productivity, reduce waste and support the transition to smarter, more sustainable factories.”

In addition to the headline products, delegates can explore Mitutoyo’s Quick Vision systems, form and roundness testers, and a full portfolio of reliable hand tools including micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges. Live demonstrations, interactive sessions and interactive metrology game with prizes will be on the stand. Expert advice will be available throughout the five-day event.
