Wallwork to promote medical-grade coatings at Irish exhibitionWallwork have invested in a second Quintus hot isostatic press

Wallwork Heat Treatment will preview advanced finishing and densification services for medical and pharmaceutical device markets at the Manufacturing Solutions conference, which takes place 11 June in Limerick, Ireland (Stand T7). The event is organised by the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and the GTMA. Visitors can explore how Wallwork helps manufacturers raise component performance, extend tool life and strengthen quality assurance.

The company will highlight PVD coatings which are tailored to meet the needs of high-precision medical and pharma production environments, delivering low-friction, wear-resistant surfaces. These coatings protect components and tooling operating under repetitive cycles and strict cleanliness protocols. Wallwork’s Cambridge coatings facility is a centre of excellence for customers seeking proven process expertise that supports regulated manufacturing.

Alongside coatings, visitors will learn about Wallwork’s growing hot isostatic pressing (HIP) capacity which is particularly relevant to parts where internal integrity and repeatability are paramount. HIP improves material soundness by eliminating internal voids and porosity, and this enhances fatigue life and mechanical reliability. Furthermore, Wallwork has recently installed a second Quintus Technologies hot isostatic press, taking its investment in this technology to £20 million enabling the company to carry out high-integrity processing at scale.

Beyond its medical and pharma-focused services, Wallwork offers a broad range of thermal processing. There are over 100 heat treatments available, and the plasma nitriding, vacuum carburising, and vacuum brazing facilities are extensive. The group supports customers across aerospace, motorsport, automotive, tooling and more. Bringing depth of experience and best practice to every project.

Quality and verification remain central to the Wallwork brand. The business operates in-house, well-equipped, UKAS-certified mechanical testing labs. This enables responsive validation, rapid order turnaround and strong traceability. Wallwork also holds AS9100 and Nadcap accreditations. All reflecting robust systems, controlled processes and documentation discipline. Attributes that also align with medical and pharmaceutical device requirements.

Customers benefit from Wallwork’s full end-to-end service. Engineering support, processing, in-house testing and documentation — all delivered through one supplier — reducing risk, simplifying procurement and accelerating time to production.
