
The
Chiron Group will use AMB 2026 in Stuttgart to showcase a range of machining, automation and digital manufacturing technologies aimed at helping manufacturers increase productivity, flexibility and autonomous operation.
Exhibiting under the theme "Where Automation Meets Machining Excellence", the German machine tool specialist will demonstrate how advanced machining systems can be integrated with automation and digital process management to create high-performance manufacturing solutions for a wide range of applications.
The company's stand in Hall 10 will feature production concepts designed for everything from micromachining and small precision components to the manufacture of large, complex workpieces, with a particular focus on steel machining, demanding materials and high-mix production environments.
Markus Unterstein, Chief Financial Officer of the Chiron Group, said manufacturers are increasingly looking beyond machine performance alone when investing in production technology.
"Precision remains the foundation of successful production. However, the interplay of machining technology, automation and digital processes is increasingly becoming decisive," he said.
"Our manufacturing solutions connect precisely these levels, from automated production cells to integrated order control and modular machine platforms."
A key attraction at the exhibition will be the Micro5 XL, where Chiron will demonstrate how high-precision micromachining can be combined with automation within a compact manufacturing footprint. Visitors will see two automation configurations, including a Variocell PALLET system providing live pallet handling and a Variocell UNO system for robotic workpiece handling and additional process operations.
The solutions are designed to support manufacturers requiring high levels of precision, dynamic performance and efficiency while making optimum use of available floor space.
Also running live will be the MT 715, a production centre developed to combine multiple manufacturing technologies within a single machine platform. Alongside milling and turning operations, the machine incorporates additional processes such as gear cutting and polygon turning, enabling complete machining of complex workpieces from raw material to finished component.
By consolidating several operations into one system, the machine is intended to reduce throughput times and handling requirements while maintaining consistently high quality levels.
For larger components, the company will present its MILL 2000 machining centre, part of its redesigned MILL series. Developed for the production of large and heavy workpieces, the machine features a modular platform that enables tailored configurations for specific manufacturing requirements.
According to CHIRON, the machine's wear-free torque swivel head delivers high levels of precision and dynamic performance, while the use of standardised assemblies offers benefits in areas such as spare parts availability, maintenance and delivery lead times.
High-mix and low-volume manufacturers will also be targeted with demonstrations of an FZ 16 S five-axis machining centre equipped with an enhanced Variocell PALLET system. The latest version accommodates 26 pallets, providing greater flexibility for changing production schedules and varying workpiece requirements.
Alongside it, Chiron will showcase an FZ 19 S five-axis machine featuring a newly developed pallet changer designed in-house. The system supports both single and twin-spindle machine configurations and has been developed to deliver long periods of autonomous operation when machining large and complex components, particularly in sectors such as aerospace.
Beyond machine tool hardware, Chiron will use AMB to expand its SmartLine digital manufacturing portfolio with a new software module focused on production order management and automation control.
The company said the system has been designed to support autonomous and flexible manufacturing operations, particularly those producing in small batch sizes, and will be integrated across all live manufacturing cells on the stand.
The digital technology forms part of Chiron’s wider strategy to connect machine tools, automation systems and production planning functions into a single manufacturing environment capable of responding quickly to changing demand.
In addition to the live exhibits, visitors will be able to explore the company's wider product range through an interactive showroom featuring information on machine tools, automation systems and turnkey manufacturing solutions.
AMB 2026 takes place in Stuttgart from 15 to 19 September, where Chiron Group will be exhibiting in Hall 10, Stand C52.
