Horizon Microtechnologies will return to
European Microwave Week (EuMW) this year in London 4-9 October, exhibiting on Booth K22 alongside
Rupptronik and presenting as part of Workshop WS-01. The company will use the event to highlight the growing maturity of its precision additive manufacturing and specialist coating platform for RF, microwave, millimetre-wave, and space applications.
EuMW is one of the key meeting points for the RF and microwave engineering community, bringing together component developers, system designers, researchers, OEMs, and technology innovators. For Horizon, this year’s event comes at an important moment as the company builds on recent progress in space qualification, high-performance filters, precision RF structures, and advanced metallised polymer components.
Horizon’s core capability combines high-precision polymer micro-AM with proprietary functional coatings and metallisation. This “print then coat” approach enables complex, lightweight RF components with extremely smooth surfaces, high conductivity, and design freedom that conventional machining, split-block assembly, and most metal AM routes can struggle to deliver.
At EuMW, visitors to Booth K22 will be able to discuss Horizon’s latest work in areas including RF and mm-wave filters, antennas, satellite payload hardware such as shielding housings, and other compact high-frequency components. Horizon will also give an insight into its development road map and newly launched products which are available off-the-shelf, including antennas optimised for use with frequencies dedicated to industrial sensing and metrology, compact lens-enhanced antennas for size-limited applications such as drone payloads and antennas with low-side lobe levels. This reflects the company’s ongoing development of products fully leveraging the design freedom enabled through its additive manufacturing approach.
A further highlight will be Horizon’s participation in Workshop WS-01. Horizon will host a talk within the workshop programme entitled “Passive microwave components made by micro-SLA resin printing and metallic coating and their space qualification” at 14.50 on 4th October. The following presentation is given by one of Horizon’s customers and cooperation partners and features the object of their collaboration, a world record-holding Q-factor filter. This pairing underlines Horizon’s growing role not only as a supplier of coated micro-AM parts, but as an enabling partner in advanced RF component development.
